Becoming a parent is rarely smooth sailing. The stress of conceiving, carrying and caring for a new baby can, at times, be difficult to cope with, and can strain relationships.  Speaking with a professional can help you process this new reality and gain perspective. Mara Heiman is an experienced psychotherapist who has been working with new and intended parents for over 20 years. Mara will work with you to expand your concept of what it means to become a parent, so you can face whatever challenges this new role throws at you and remain emotionally present.  She loves working with new moms, couples, and children to help them build a strong family unit early on. Whether you’re struggling with infertility, postpartum adjustment, career navigation, or just need extra support during pregnancy or with a new baby, Mara will offer constructive consultation. She knows that providing support to parents will benefit their children, as well. That “village” that is needed to raise a child—moms and dads need one too!
